The Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree returns on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
We are keeping all the elements donors love about the Giving Spree and expanding it with live nonprofit information sessions for donors and drop off locations across Adams County. Like last year, there are many ways to participate.
First, join us Live in October for ten nonprofit information sessions for donors in partnership with the Adams County Library System. Covering a variety of topics with presenters from dozens of nonprofits, all sessions will be held from noon to 1pm at five locations around Adams County. For details, please visit ACCFGivingSpree.org or adamslibrary.org/giving-spree
Then, support your favorite Adams County nonprofits with an immediate gift during the Giving Spree or earmark your Giving Spree gifts to permanent endowment, which will support the nonprofits you care about year after year. Your gift will also help unlock endowment prizes for nonprofits that receive at least $2,000 in total forever gifts.
You can give broadly and support all the nonprofits in this year’s Giving Spree with a gift to the “incentive match.” Nonprofits receive a percentage of the incentive match based on the amount they raise during the Giving Spree.
How can you make sure your gift counts? Like previous years, you can mail it in, drop it off or give online.
The Community Foundation will accept Giving Spree gifts by mail between now and November 7.
On November 7 between 1:00 and 5:00 pm you can drop off a completed donation form and gift at the Gettysburg Times on Fairfield Road, the Harbaugh Thomas Library in Biglerville, the Trone Memorial Library in East Berlin, Thunderbolt Stadium in Littlestown, and the H.A.R.T. Center in New Oxford. There’s no need to leave your car: Volunteers will be on hand to accept your contribution, thank you personally and cheer you on.
And you can make your gift securely online at ACCFGivingSpree.org, between midnight and 11:59 pm on November 7.
Whether you are a Giving Spree veteran or new to this incredible community event, here are some tips to make the most of your participation in this year’s Giving Spree.
For Donors:
Visit www.ACCFGivingSpree.org and download our 2024 Giving Spree Donor Guide. The Guide includes nonprofit descriptions, a Donation Form, and answers to many frequently asked questions.
Many of Adams County’s most famililar nonprofits will be on the list, but you’ll also see seven new organizations to learn about and consider like Find Toby in PA, the Gettysburg Film Commission, National Riding Stables Horse Rescue, and the Apple Core Band.
Support your favorites with a gift they can use today and a gift they can add to an endowment and use forever.
Remember, you can make your gift by check, credit card, stock, qualified charitable distribution from your IRA or grant from a private foundation or donor advised fund. Donation forms are available online, through the Community Foundation and from all participating nonprofits.
During last year’s Giving Spree, you gave an incredible $3.1 million, including more than $560,000 to establish and grow nonprofit endowments. Let’s make 2024 even bigger and better!
How will you support your favorite nonprofits in this year’s Giving Spree? I’d like to know. Contact me at rserpe@adamscountycf.org or 717-337-0060.
