Vincent Anthony Serpe of North Babylon, NY, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 90 on January 13, 2021.
Vincent was born on September 2, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Ralph and Margaret (Memelo) Serpe. He served with the Army National Guard in Korea and worked as a stone mason for more than 50 years. On October 8, 1955, he married Carole R. Carlino. Together they raised four children, Vince, Carole-Lynn and the twins Kathy and Ralph.
Vincent had a passion for good food, classical music, and telling stories—often all at the same time. He was an artist in terrazzo and stone. He had polio as a young child and suffered from its effects late in life, but it never slowed him down. His life was centered around his wife, family and children and he was their rock. He will be remembered for his warm smile and sense of humor.
Vincent was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, his mother, Margaret, and his brothers Lawrence and Arnold. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Carole, his four children, Vince (Terry), Carole-Lynn (Jim Glass), Kathy (Mark Mazur) and Ralph (Bryan Tate), six grandchildren, Kate, Steven, Nicole, Ellie, Kristina and Mark, brother-in law John Carlino (Donna) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations to the Vincent Serpe Memorial Fund will benefit local schools and community organizations.
