Fred and Rita Diehl moved to Gettysburg in 1998. Fred was born and raised in Adams County in Cashtown. A graduate of Penn State University, Fred was a career auditor in the U. S. Department of Agriculture. Fred and Rita married late in life and had no children. Their love of Adams County led them to leave an estate gift to the Community Foundation.
