Dick and RJ Unger were particularly interested in honoring the memory of Ruth Jean’s twin brother, Dick Pitzer, who was a capable sports figure at Biglerville High School. The gymnasium at Biglerville High School was named in honor of Dick Pitzer. Their naming gift to the Upper Adams School District became the basis for this fund.
The Richard L. and Ruth Jean Unger Fund will benefit Upper Adams School District. Proceeds from this fund are distributed through the Canners Educational Fund and used for projects that enhance teaching and learning at district schools.
