Maybelle Hereter was considered a devoted and competent musician whose interest in music and music education had a tremendous influence upon hundreds of young people throughout the community of Gettysburg.
Established by Ralph and Dorothy Bailey in 1956 in Maybelle’s honor, this fund provides a scholarship for a Gettysburg Area School District graduating senior who participates in a competitive audition, written instrument and ear perception tests and is pursuing a career in music.
