Greg Richardson was a kind, compassionate young man who was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Greg lived with his family in Orrtanna and attended Fairfield Area Schools, finishing high school at Gettysburg. An athlete, Greg excelled in soccer, basketball and baseball, winning 6 athletic awards at Fairfield and 5 athletic awards at Gettysburg. One month after graduation in 1994, while vacationing in Florida, Greg lost his life at the hands of a drunk driver.
This scholarship was established by Greg’s parents, Del and Tynia Richardson in his memory. It is awarded to an athlete at Fairfield Area High and at Gettysburg Area High Schools who will be pursuing post-secondary education and athletics.
