Community Foundation Launches Adams County Fund for the Environment

In recognition of Earth Day, the Adams County Community Foundation has created the “Adams County Fund for the Environment” with initial support from donors interested in “making environmental stewardship a shared community value in Adams County.”

The Fund’s grantmaking will support environmental education and local environmental projects.
• Grants that aim to educate our community around environmental issues, like climate science, renewal energies and protecting our waterways.
• Grants that support boots on the ground local projects like tree planting, litter pick-up, and recycling.

The Adams County Fund for the Environment founding advisory committee will look to relevant Adams County organizations such as the Gettysburg Green Gathering, Watershed Alliance of Adams County, Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve, 4-H, youth groups and others to help inform its grantmaking.

About the Adams County Community Foundation
The Adams County Community Foundation was created to promote and facilitate charitable giving and to build a permanent civic endowment for Adams County. While the Community Foundation’s Adams County Grants are focused locally, the Community Foundation also provides a home for charitable funds created by donors which may make distributions anywhere in Pennsylvania or across the country. The Community Foundation’s mission is to inspire people and communities to build and distribute charitable funds for good, for Adams County, for ever.
