AAdams County Community Foundation Announces Covid-19 Relief & Recovery Fund
(Gettysburg, PA: 5/1/2020) The Adams County Community Foundation has established the COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund to direct charitable grants to area nonprofits struggling to meet the extraordinary needs of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund is a logical extension of the role the Community Foundation has played during the public health crisis as coordinator of a series of “community call-ins” which provide residents an opportunity to hear updates from leaders of major community institutions.
The Community Foundation welcomes contributions to the Fund, which has been seeded with $100,000 from the Community Foundation’s unrestricted endowment, and an additional $50,000 from the Forward Fund. Gifts may be made online at www.adamscountycf.org
A call for proposals from nonprofits has been posted here: The COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Fund will provide operating and program support to a broad range of nonprofits. Recipients may be nonprofits experiencing an increase in demand for their services, unforeseen costs in adapting their services, as well as those whose typical sources of revenue have been curtailed and those forced to suspend operations due to the pandemic and the economic downturn.
The Community Foundation will seek to track the shifting needs created by the pandemic to deploy grant dollars effectively. As other resources become available to nonprofits, the Community Foundation will search out unmet needs and provide grants to fill the gaps.
Proposals must be submitted according to the deadlines published online, and grants will be awarded in June, July and August. The total amount to be distributed in June will be limited to $60,000. Subsequent months’ awards will be based on the amount of additional donations received to the Fund.
