The Adams County Community Foundation has named three financial advisors to its Professional Advisor Recognition Society. James Kampstra, Elizabeth Johnides and Kristine Witherow join a prestigious list of fourteen legal and financial advisors honored by the Community Foundation for demonstrating a commitment to Adams County and South Central Pennsylvania by working to advance philanthropy and encourage charitable giving across the region.
Bruce Bigelow, a charitable fundraising consultant who serves as chair of the Ambassador Committee for the Community Foundation, said, “This region is blessed with a strong cadre of professional advisors who use their position of trust to talk to their clients about one of the most personal topics there is: charitable giving. Honoring those who help strengthen this community through philanthropy is our way of publicly thanking them for that service.”

Jim Kampstra’s primary focus is consulting with business owners on their personal and business financial matters. He works closely with his clients to develop comprehensive plans and investment strategies to meet their goals and prioritizes charitable planning in his conversations with clients.
Jim graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He was hired as an advisor at Leonard J. Ferrara Company following graduation and became the owner of the company in 2012, renaming it to Ferrara Kampstra Wealth Management. Jim joined Stonebridge Financial Group upon its merger with Ferrara Kampstra in November 2018.
Jim has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation, Accredited Pension Administrator (APA), and Accredited Pension Representative (APR) designations. Jim also holds the Series 7, Series 24, and Series 66 securities licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Jim is actively involved in the Gettysburg community and currently serves as a board member and Treasurer for the Adams County Community Foundation.
Elizabeth Johnides, AIF®, QPFC, Retire Cents
Elizabeth S. Johnides is an experienced retirement plan consultant with a demonstrated history of working with companies to create, implement, and monitor their retirement plans. She helps plan sponsors and participants achieve successful outcomes. Elizabeth is particularly skilled in techniques for using complicated assets in charitable giving.
Elizabeth holds the Series 7, Series 66, and Series 24 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), as well as a life and health insurance license. Elizabeth has earned the AIF®, Accredited Investment Fiduciary from Fi360. She also maintains the QPFC, Qualified Plan Financial Consultant from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
Elizabeth is passionate about her community and serves with several nonprofit organizations, among them the Adams County Community Foundation where she is a member of the Board of Directors.
Kristine Witherow, Harvest Investment Services
Kristine Witherow has served her clients for over 21 years as a financial advisor helping them navigate the maze of financial decisions and managing their wealth. She helps clients along their entire planning timeline: growing assets for retirement, creating income streams for retirement, and helping clients who wish to leave a lasting charitable legacy.
Kristine has set an example personally by creating a charitable endowment at the Community Foundation which will help sustain the Gettysburg Community Theatre for generations to come.
Kristine aligns herself with Harvest’s blend of downside risk controls and active management style to yield superior results for growth and preservation. Kristine is forward-thinking and responsive and focuses on listening to her clients’ needs and finding solutions that they feel comfortable with.

The Adams County Community Foundation was created to promote and facilitate charitable giving and to build a permanent civic endowment for Adams County. While the Community Foundation’s Adams County Grants are focused locally, the Community Foundation also provides a home for charitable funds created by donors which may make distributions anywhere in Pennsylvania or across the country. The Adams County Community Foundation’s mission is to inspire people and communities to build and distribute charitable funds for good, for Adams County, for ever.
