The Elizabeth Ferciot Roby Art Scholarship - “Bettie” Roby raised three children with her husband Charlie, putting her love of painting on hold while her children were young. With her children grown, she was able to pursue her love of art. She studied at the Schuler School of Fine Arts, driving to Baltimore from Fairfield daily for four years. Upon completion, she opened a studio at her home in Fairfield, PA, creating beautiful art and teaching classes there. She loved to teach. She passed away in 2014.

The Elizabeth Ferciot Roby Art Scholarship was established by her daughter, Marcia and her husband Todd to recognize a student or adult pursuing post-secondary education at a school, college or university in the field of art, preferably studio art, but other forms of art such as photography, sculpture, or pottery may be considered. The 2017 scholarship is $500.
